Reconnecting to the body

Many of us in society have lost our body connection. We may sit at desks in front of screens all day long or play on our phones. We may identify with ourselves through our minds and not through our bodies and how we feel. However, this vital part of our innate intelligence is there lurking in the background. We may have a ‘sense’ of something or trust our guts. We may hear some news about someone and say ‘I had a feeling about them’. As we awaken more fully to who we are, reconnection to the body is a vital part of reclaiming our sovereignty and being true to ourselves. From this position we are able to make the decisions that are right for us, regain a sense of calm and be less reactive to uncontrollable events.

Re-connecting with the body is not easy for everyone. It is a process and like the formation of any relationship, it takes time, patience and gentleness. Many of us have dissociated from our bodies because they were an unsafe space to inhabit because of trauma. Re-connecting is about practising gentle breathwork and somatic practices regularly to ground and come back in. Because many of us don’t like to feel emotions, we may become overwhelmed at first as we feel what we have been avoiding.

I provide a gentle safe space to explore breathwork and somatic techniques so that you can rekindle that relationship to your body and feel safe to inhabit your own space again. Please book a free discovery session here if you need support and we can discuss how I can best help you.
